NFL Wild Card Weekend Day 1

Not much surprise in yesterday games, the Texans and Saints both took care of business.

Houston Texans  31      Cincinnati Bengals  10
I thought the Bengals had a shot, but their offense couldn't get it together.  Andy Dalton got intercepted threw times in this game.  TJ Yates threw a late touchdown to Andre Johnson to really seal the deal.  Arian Foster ran in for two scores.  Rookie JJ Watt got a pick six late in the first half to put the brakes on the Bengals.  The Texans are known for their defense and their running game, and that's what showed.  Texans will get a tough test in facing the Ravens next week, but if they did things like today, they should have a good shot.  The Bengals can feel good about their future as Dalton seems to be coming into his own, and he can throw the ball to AJ Green, who had a fantastic rookie year.

New Orleans Saints  45      Detroit Lions  28
I don't want to toot my own horn as I feel most people were saying the same thing, but the Saints did put up over forty points, which I predicted.  Maybe I should start putting money on these games.  Drew Brees just threw for 466 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Just another day at the office for him as he blew past Dan Marino's passing record for a season, and looks to be right on pace for a blistering post season.  His total was the most in a postseason regulation game.  Matthew Stafford for the Lions didn't have a bad game himself as he threw for 380 yards and 3 touchdowns.  It wasn't enough to keep pace with the Saints, and they will move on to the next round.
