Basketball to Watch Tonight: Indiana Pacers and Butler Bulldogs

Indiana Pacers

The Pacers get another test tonight when the face the ageless Boston Celtics.  Boston has been on a roll lately, winning 4 in a row after losing their first 3 games.  It seems like the trio of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett will play into their 40's.  Rajon Rondo is the young pup of the group, but one who could be the best out of them.  There was a brief rumor that Rondo could have been coming to the Pacers, but like I said rumor, and we've no longer heard that.  Pacer fans know what the Pacers went through on Wednesday night against the Heat, and hope to put that loss deep down in the basement.  This will be a good chance to show that this young Pacers team can play with the better East teams.  Plus just showing that the Pacers are a better team than last year is something.  Hopefully Danny Granger gets out of his funk.  David West scores more points.  Roy Hibbert comes to play, and everything clicks again, so the Pacers can run the Celtics out of the building.  That would be ideal, but for this game, I think it will be a grind it out till the last few minutes, and the Pacers will have the chance to pull away then.  

Butler Bulldogs

Talk about some rest time between games, the Bulldogs haven't played since last Saturday and play tonight against one of the league leaders in Wright State.  A win here puts Butler back into the league lead, and should be a great win for this season.  Butler has fallen off the radar of state schools, but I think they will put together a run that gets people talking again.  It's been the up and down season for Butler, but they've rattled off three straight wins, and hope to continue that.  The biggest thing to worry about is the shooting percentage as Butler enters this game towards the bottom.  Still can't seem to find that basket, maybe this is the game where Butler shoots it well.  Just like the Pacers, I am hoping it all clicks tonight as I said a win tonight puts Butler right back into the thick of the Horizon League.  They were the preseason favorite to win, now it's time to show that.
