NBA Notes- Christmas Day Games

With the season being hurriedly put together and teams playing lots of games in lots of nights, I probably won't be able to review all the NBA happenings all the time, but yesterday did provide a few things that I wanted to throw out there.

Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony both scored 37 points for their team and lead the way. I think these two guys always will be linked together as they were from the same draft class and both have that will to win.  Whoever gets the first championship, if either, will get the leg up on who is better?  Right now, Lebron is more of a complete player, so I would give him the edge. But then again, his teammate, Dwaye Wade, from that same draft class, got a ring first, so maybe Wade is the best out of all of them?

NY Knicks beat the Boston Celtics, and yes it's only one game, but coming out of last season, the Knicks got swept by the Celtics in the post season and the regular season.  That's eight meetings in a row that the Celtics had got the better end of the stick against the Knicks.  Will we see if this means anything in the long run, but for one game and finally after 8 losses, the Knicks up ended the Celtics.

The Mavs, champs from last year, look like they will have a tough hill to climb to make it back.  The Heat just handled them in the beginning and pulled away at the end.  They put up 30some points in quarters one through three. It took a massive effort for the Mavs to make it look competitive, but the Heat got this Finals rematch for one game.

The Bulls rallied to beat the Lakers and show that they weren't a fluke to win the most games last season.  Derek Rose started his campaign for another MVP showing, and he might be on the pace to be in the forefront of it again.  Loul Deng made a huge block at the end of Kobe Bryant to seal the win for his team.  Who would have thought you would ever say that sentence?

With lofty expectations this year, they are my Finals pick, the Thunder showed that they will be a team to be reckoned with.  They took care of the Magic, and Kevin Durant put up 30 points in the game.

The other LA team, the Clippers, spoiled Mark Jackson's debut as the Warriors coach winning by 20. I didn't think this would be a pretty game, and it wasn't.
